**Selection Criteria**:
1. Experience in the delivery of student and family wellbeing services in a relevant setting and, preferably, experience working with students, teachers, families and external agencies in the area of student wellbeing.

2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and network with the wide range of people within the education and wider community.

3. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of programs that foster resilience in young people and address their social, emotional and educational needs.

4. Understanding of common approaches, policies, programs and research relating to student wellbeing in a primary school setting.

5. Demonstrate a commitment to professional learning and growth and have the appropriate qualifications and capacity to perform the roles and duties as described in the 'School Specific Roles¿ section.

**Role**:
The student wellbeing officer engaged will:
work as a member of the school¿s wellbeing team in the delivery of student wellbeing services

contribute to improving student engagement and connectedness

contribute to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

operate within the school community and with external providers.

**Responsibilities**:
The roles and responsibilities of the student wellbeing officers includes:

- supporting student attendance, engagement and mental health
- supporting students in difficult or challenging situations such as during times of grief
- providing students with referrals to specialist services when required
- providing pastoral care and guidance to students about values and ethical matters
- supporting physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and wellbeing of all students
- supporting an environment of cooperation and respecting a diversity of cultures and traditions.
