The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. - About the Role- Reporting to the Manager Asset Technical Training, the Superintendent Technical Training manages the delivery of consistent, compliant, high quality technical training across sites, whilst optimising training requirements by ensuring consistency between sites and disciplines, and conformance to applicable standards.- Display an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- Lead day-to-day training content design and development, and maintain commensurate procedures, budgets and resources.
- Manage, and maintain systems and procedures for, training-related information, including content, completions, and qualifications.
- Ensure the good governance and proper personnel management of the Technical Training Section of Engineering’s Standards, Training and Change, ensuring a productive, step-up culture and strong relationships with key stakeholders including HR Training, Planning, Production and Maintenance.
- Enhance risk management awareness, competency, capability and quality throughout Nickel West
- Work closely with site leadership, risk and control owners & Risk and Governance Function to ensure material risk controls are managed effectively at the Operation.
- Assist site leadership to improve critical control effectiveness through identifying opportunities to increase hierarchy of controls
- Ensure the good governance of the Standard Systems of Work, ensuring a productive, step-up culture and strong relationships with key stakeholders including Group Risk, HR Training, Planning, Production and Maintenance.
- Lead, coach, develop and mentor employees and graduates in a positive and proactive manner to develop and build a high performing team.
- About You- Qualification in a business management or related discipline (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to sustainably influence stakeholders in multiple remote locations
- Ability to manage service delivery across multiple operating locations
- Experience in driving cultural change in pursuit of high quality service delivery.
- Ability to navigate and reconcile competing priorities.
- Exposure to the national competencies framework.
- Understanding of the safety and performance challenges of a growing company.
- Strong drive and results orientation.
