**About the role**
This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm) and will be based at our Nowra Administration Building.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Team Leader - Community Capacity Building,the focus of this position is to:

- ** Grade 10**
- Independently identify the needs of identified target communities in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area. To develop, deliver and evaluate projects that meet these needs by liaising with relevant stakeholders, including Council to facilitate optimal outcomes for our community.
- ** Grade 9**
- Independently work to identify needs of identified target markets, with assistance from the Community Capacity Building Team as required, in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area.
- To develop, deliver and evaluate projects that meet these needs, with assistance where required, by liaising with relevant stakeholders to facilitate optimal outcomes for the community.
- **Grade 8**
- With assistance from the Community Capacity Building Team as required, work to identify the needs of identified target communities in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area.
- To develop, deliver and evaluate projects that meet these needs, with assistance, by liaising with relevant stakeholders to facilitate optimal outcomes for the community.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to relate and mix with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds and experiences in a culturally appropriate manner.

**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
**Grade 10**
- Relevant Degree in one of the following disciplines,
- Community Development
- Social Science
- Welfare
- Social Work
- Social Planning
- Other related fields
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 3 years), in delivering and evaluating a range of Community Development projects that meet identified outcomes for one or more of the following target groups:

- Women
- Children
- Youth
- Aboriginal people
- Age
- People with Disability
- People from culturally diverse backgrounds
- 3 years experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholder groups including Local Government, NSW State and Federal Government Agencies and community organisations to produce projects that benefit communities.

**Grade 9**
- A relevant Diploma in in one of the following disciplines:

- Community Development
- Social Science
- Social Work
- Social Planning
- Other related fields
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years), in Community Development with one or more of the following target groups:

- Women
- Children
- Youth
- Aboriginal people
- Age
- People with Disability
- People from culturally diverse backgrounds
- 2 years experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholder groups including Local Government, NSW State and Federal Government Agencies and community organisations to produce projects that benefit communities.

**Grade 8**
- A Certificate 4 in Community Development
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 1 year), in Community Development with one or more of the following target groups:

- Women
- Children
- Youth
- Aboriginal people
- Age
- People with disability
- People from culturally diverse backgrounds

This position requires the successful applicant to hold:

- Current Class C Driver’s Licence

This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 8, 9 or 10.

Grade 8 - $68,492 to $76,987

Grade 9 - $74,082 to $86,240

Grade 10 - $81,819 to $93,982

Council requires applicants for this position to undergo a National Criminal History Check during the recruitment process. This check will be at the expense of Council.
