**The Position**
- Position Title: Allied Health Assistant - Casual
- Classification: TC1 - TC2
- Salary per hour (exc. super): $29.24 - $30.74

**Role Description**
- Allied Health Assistants provide a support role to allied health staff at Bendigo Health. The casual Allied Health Assistant may work in a variety of programs and with varied disciplines depending on the need within the physiotherapy and exercise physiology department.
- The role of the casual Allied Health Assistant includes, but is not limited to:

- Providing individual or group therapeutic interventions
- Monitoring clients to ensure they follow their program as prescribed by an allied health professional
- Facilitating patient handling and movement

**The Team**
- The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute, allied health, cancer and mental health services. We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. Our Allied Health teams provide a diverse range of programs and person centred care in inpatient, outpatient, community, home and residential care settings.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : Evidence of completion of, Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance from a Registered Training Organisation, or its equivalent, that is relevant to the field of practice e.g. community and health services or current Allied Health Professional undergraduate student.
- Essential : Maintain compliance with the Bendigo Health Allied Health credentialing and professional practice standards policy for allied health assistants (see attached table).
- Desirable : A good understanding of allied health and the scope of practice of allied health assistants in the healthcare setting.
- Desirable : Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) in a professional clinical setting.
- Desirable : Able to provide care and implement screening/intervention plans designed by an allied health professional and provide appropriate reports on progress and outcomes of interventions.
