**About the Role**:
The Transport Planner will support the Department’s regional Transport Integration team’s role to plan for and shape the future of the transport system to deliver a prosperous, connected and liveable Victoria. The role will work collaboratively across the transport portfolio, other government departments and agencies, Regional Partnerships and local government to advance integrated land use and transport planning in regional Victoria. This role will ensure the transport system delivers on the intent of the Transport Integration Act. Particularly ensuring users are at the centre of planning and that planning is done in an integrated manner across all modes and with land use planning.

**Position Outcomes**
- Work within the Transport Integration team to engage with regional Industries, portfolio agencies, government agencies, local government, local communities, freight and logistics companies and other transport and industry stakeholders to ensure successful integrated transport planning occurs and transport issues are effectively managed.
- Prepare briefings, reports, discussion papers and presentations with well-informed recommendations on transport strategy and network planning.
- Work closely with other parts of the Transport Group, the department and relevant agencies across government to integrate transport planning with land use planning and government policy.
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of regional transport projects, events and program.
- Monitor and provide advice on emerging transport trends and ensure that transport plans are kept fresh and relevant in the face of changes to transport demand, emerging technology, and changing social preference.
- Help deliver the Department’s Inclusion Strategy and other initiatives for improved economic and social outcomes by liaising with Aboriginal communities.
**Key Selection Criteria**
For the Transport Planner role, we're seeking a strategic thinker with the ability to plan and align team goals to achieve key outcomes. The role involves proactive environmental scanning to gather insights from experts and identify root causes of issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you’ll prepare reports, convey ideas clearly, and tailor messages for diverse audiences. You’ll excel in problem-solving by gathering relevant information, analysing issues from multiple perspectives, and identifying practical solutions. Effective stakeholder management is also critical, as you’ll work to add value, build connections, and address stakeholder concerns constructively.

- Experience in transport or land use planning is required.
- A relevant tertiary degree, particularly in transport or land use planning, would be well regarded.
