**About the Role**

You will drive the critical improvements to transport accessibility across the transport network which will include defining design guides for accessible transport infrastructure and helping to establish stronger quality assurance processes for projects. This pivotal role collaborates with other groups within the trasport portfolio and government agencies to influence project deliverables, such as the Department's co-ordinated strategy for accessible transport infrastructure, and to achieve compliance with accessibility standards.

**Position Accountabilities**
- Knowledge in accessibility standards relating to public transport infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience in disability access assurance compliance
- High level conceptual and analytical skills to manage risk, seek solutions and implement actions
- Exceptional communication skills to prepare clear and concise technical reports and briefs
- A collaborative approach with other team members, stakeholders and customer/community groups
- Ideally be accredited with the Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACAA) or working towards accreditation

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Desirable**
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications that could include completion of the Certificate IV or Diploma in Access Consulting (highly regarded), or an allied qualification in building design/architecture, building surveying, occupational therapy or other related disciplines
- Membership with the Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACAA) will also be highly regarded, especially an Associate Member or an Accredited Member
