The Role:
The AccessAbility Adviser is responsible for the assessment, delivery, coordination, and administration of services to students with whom the University is required to negotiate reasonable adjustments under relevant State and Commonwealth legislation
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice to current and prospective students about services provided by AccessAbility Services
- Register eligible students with AccessAbility Services
- Negotiate with registered students to prepare an Education Access Plan
- Consult with registered students, and liaise and negotiate on their behalf
- Accurately input data, record, and maintain case information and prepare reports
- Administer the bookings of Education Access Workers through various agencies
About you:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation pertaining to the rights of people living with disability and the responsibilities of educational institutions.
- A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Experience in understanding the impact of a range of psychiatric, physical, sensory, neurological, medical, and learning disabilities on educational and personal development, preferably in a tertiary setting
Successful applicants must be willing to apply for an Employee Working With Children's Check (WWCC), Police Check, Covid-19 Booster and will be able to work across the campuses at Hawthorn, Croydon, and Wantirna.
