The Junior Category Manager owns categories within the portfolio. The role will support development of category plans, keep on top of market trends, foster supplier relationships to introduce innovation and technology. Support and coordinate effective procurement governance to the organisation. Identifying and supporting the delivery of value for money and supporting the organisations procurement ESG (sustainable procurement) requirements and outcomes.

What you will bring _**
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values - accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- A relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in procurement, supply chain, business, commerce or equivalent experience.
- Experience in procurement, tendering, category management and an understanding of current legislations and standards.
- Awareness of how to effectively manage complex issues within a highly political and complex environment.
- Experience in achieving cost reductions.
- Experience of ESG (sustainable procurement) requirements and outcomes within procurement activities.
- Influencing or negotiating skills with demonstrated experience in achieving effective outcomes.
- Proven experience in working collaboratively with stakeholders in negotiating value for money.
