- A vacancy currently exists for a Laboratory Technician (Diploma/Associate Degree) within the Microbiology Department at our Murarrie Laboratory. The permanent full time position will be required to work a variety of shifts between the hours of 06:00am and 2:06am Monday to Friday, and will include rostered weekend work, public holidays. The purpose of this role is to perform manual and automated diagnostic assays; pre and post analytical specimen handling; assist with quality control procedures.We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing
- Specimen storage and retrieval
- Equipment maintenance and operation
- Maintenance of records
- Assist with stock control
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and QML Pathology

**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- A Diploma of Laboratory Technology, Associate Degree or equivalent
- Previous laboratory experience, preferably in diagnostic testing, is desirable
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes
- Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and quality assurance processes and procedures
- Previous Pathology Laboratory experience is desirable, but not essential
