- St Anthony’s is a 40-year-old school situated on spacious grounds with generous green spaces.
We are seeking an experienced grounds/maintenance person to join our team to develop and maintain the school’s gardens and grounds and carry out minor maintenance tasks, as well as assist other staff in preparing and setting up equipment for school events.
Our beautiful school boasts a spacious natural environment with exceptionally large fully fenced grounds (including two large ovals). Due to the school’s age, size and depending on seasonal demands, approximately 60% of allocated time will be directed to grounds care and maintenance and 40% to building and plant and equipment maintenance.
Key duties include:

- General maintenance and care of the school grounds including garden beds, lawns, turf, sporting ovals and greens (incuding mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, hedge trimming, fertilising)
- Minor building and grounds maintenance and repairs
- Oval marking
- Assisting with set up of outdoor events
- Inspection of playground equipment and soft fall areas
- Maintenance of tools, plant and equipment
- Managing and record keeping of programmed maintenance such as pest control, fire equipment, electrical test and tag, switchboard testing, grease trap cleaning, tree safety, etc
- Liasing with tradespeople.

You will bring to the role:

- Experience working outdoors and performance of manual tasks on a daily basis
- Previous experience in caring for large garden and lawn areas
- Knowledge of the requirements for the safe use and storage of horticultural chemicals
- Experience in the use of hand tools and power equipment used in the maintenance of gardens and lawn areas
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a small, dedicated team
- Demonstrated planning and prioritisation of work based on seasonal conditions and school routines
- General knowledge and skills in carpentry, plumbing and electrical
- Current Open driver’s licence.
