Casual Cemetery Groundsperson

**About the role**:
Based at Castle Hill Cemetery, this position is responsible for delivering clean, attractive, and appealing cemeteries for the community. The position works on its own to complete a variety of tasks associated with the planned and reactive maintenance and presentation of Council’s cemeteries by utilising a variety of cleaning, chemical and maintenance techniques.

**What you will be doing**:

- Place, remove, and/or replace slopers and granite plaques on walls and in scatter gardens.
- Prepare site for ash burials. - Assist with the interment of ashes into Columbarium walls.
- Assist in the preparation of graves for ash interments, following guidelines and measurements accurately.
- Litter collection, removal of broken items, and cleansing of public spaces.
- Cleaning of granite plaques on Columbarium Walls.
- Monitor and arrange for the topping up of graves.
- Blowing down pathways prior to burials.
- Other duties as specified.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
2. School Certificate or equivalent
3. Drivers Licence (Class C)
4. Chemical Safety Accreditation AQF3
5. Traffic Controller
6. First Aid Certificate (Desirable)

**Position details**: Casual role, as and when needed - potentially up to 20 hours each week of work.
T842A, Salary: From $41.50 per hour including casual loading + Superannuation.
