**About the Role**

As the Development Engineering Manager, you will lead a multi-discipline team of engineers within the EAPNG Operating Division. You will oversee the development of engineering to support projects across multiple assets in both Australia and Papua New Guinea.

This is a pivotal role that will focus on ensuring the suitability and integrity of project designs, particularly during the Concept Select and FEED phases. By balancing risks and rewards effectively, the team enhances the Net Present Value (NPV) of projects during front-end loading (FEL) phases while upholding compliance with Australian and Santos Standards, as well as the asset Operating Philosophy.

Key accountabilities include:

- Delivering FEL for a portfolio of EAPNG projects to improve project value enabling access a greater reserve base.
- Ensuring development project scope adheres to the asset Operating Philosophy in what it delivers.
- Owners Engineering input to prevent scope drift in FEED and Detailed design - fit for purpose design, ensuring compliance with Santos, Australian and international specifications and standards.
- Identifying opportunities to exploit the resource differently, at lower cost or improve resource recovery.
- Balances Risk and Reward in design - inherently safe & operable facilities at the lowest lifecycle cost.
- Work closely & collaboratively with Development and Project Managers ensuring key deliverables are in place to meet project milestones and assurance gates.

**About You**

**Professional Experience**:
Essential:

- Extensive experience in oil and gas industry.
- Substantial experience as a practicing engineer in Oil and Gas Upstream or Processing facilities
- Leading multi discipline engineering teams in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company, preferably in support of both Operations and project teams.
- Familiar with relevant Australian and ASME standards as applicable to Oil and Gas industry

**Qualifications**:
Essential:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s engineering
- Chartered Engineer and RPEQ

Desired:

- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Project Management qualifications
