As the **Indigenous Community Engagement Consultant **. You will be part of a dynamic local team, backed by our National Indigenous Services Team and GHD’s Indigenous Staff Network.

Working with the **Sydney Engagement, Communication & Communities Team and Key Aboriginal Stakeholders **, this exciting opportunity will include:
Advising on and undertaking best practice engagement with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders in NSW. This role will see you:

- Maintaining positive client and key stakeholder relationships
- Assisting in the delivery of client work - advising on engagement strategies for a range of clients including Government authorities, major infrastructure projects (e.g., renewables, road, rail)
- Assisting in the preparation of high-quality written communication material including proposals, reports and client deliverables.
- Supporting Project Managers to deliver quality projects on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of internal and external clients.

We want to ensure you succeed in this role. To do so you will possess:

- Understanding of Aboriginal culture, society and an understanding of the historical and contemporary issues impacting on the NSW Aboriginal community.
- Strong connections to the Aboriginal community in NSW
- Excellent inter-personal skills with an ability to foster teamwork and work with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
- Initiatives to actively seek to improve programs and services, offer new and different options to solve problems and meet client needs.
- Willingness to learn and keep abreast of new developments in the field and develop own technical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in use of Office suite.
- A tertiary qualification in Planning, Communications, Social Sciences, Arts (Communications) or related Social Sciences is preferred.
