**About the Role**

As a** Maintenance Officer**at Regency Park Retirement Village, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our facilities and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. Your responsibilities will include:

- ** Facility Maintenance**:Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, to ensure the safety and functionality of our buildings.
- ** Groundskeeping**:Maintain gardens and outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and planting seasonal flora to create inviting spaces for residents and visitors.
- ** Safety Compliance**:Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- ** Routine Inspections**:Regularly assess the condition of facilities and grounds, promptly addressing any issues.
- ** Equipment Maintenance**: Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order, performing basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- ** Collaboration**:Work closely with other staff members to coordinate maintenance activities and support community events.
- ** Record Keeping**:Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

**What we’re Looking For**
- ** Experience**:Previous experience in maintenance and/or gardening roles, preferably within community or aged care settings.
- ** Skills**:Proficiency in using maintenance tools and gardening equipment, with a solid understanding of horticultural practices.
- ** Irrigation Systems**:Experience with irrigation systems is highly regarded.
- ** Plant Knowledge**:Good knowledge of plants and their care in various environments.
- ** Team Player**:Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
- ** Initiative**:A proactive approach to tasks, with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

**Requirements**:

- ** Qualifications**:Relevant certifications in maintenance, horticulture, or a related field are advantageous. And knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements (or ability to acquire within one month of employment)
- ** Experience**: Twelve months’ experience in a maintenance role. Ability to work semi-autonomously, under periodic supervision and prioritise work to meet business/service requirements.
- ** Compliance**:A current National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to acquire).
- ** A current driver’s licence.**:

- ** Health**:Physical capability to perform manual tasks and operate machinery safely.
