We are seeking a **Tactical Data Link Consultant **to work across several positions in support of the Joint Data Networks Military Operations Support Team (JDN MOST) in Canberra ACT.

The JDN MOST is a multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary team made up of Tri-Service staff supported by various contractors and APS. It has a military executive structure based on rank with the OIC at the O5 level.
We are embedded within the JDN MOST as part of a dislocated workforce model, of which creates a difficult C2 environment and welfare framework for managers and supervisors. Those incumbents would need to demonstrate their ability to be able to act autonomously within their assigned level and role.

**Your typical day could look like**:

- Cross train and support COP management functions within the HQJOC Data Fusion Centre (DFC)
- Troubleshoot ADF MTN connectivity and equipment issues
- Assist the ADF in the management of the accuracy and timeliness of ADF MTN picture, and on-forwarding to the COP
- Deploy in a number of roles inclusive of TDL operator/ ICO operations in support of domestic and international exercises as required
- Supervise, lead, and train ADF JICC operators in the set-up and initialisation of equipment including local and remote systems
- Compile weekly JICC equipment status brief, providing an overview of system status and outstanding defects
- Conduct international engagement with foreign nations for the purpose of MTN planning to support ADF interests

**What we would expect from you**:

- Experience with ADF and Allied Joint Data Network operations and management
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working operations and or supervisory management with TDL in the ADF or Other Allied partners.
- ADF recognised certifications/ or Allied recognised certifications
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with Beyond Line of Site (BLOS) systems and capabilities

**Desirable skills**:

- Demonstrated practical knowledge of and experience within a tactical unit/platform as a TDL Operator, including practical experience with Link-16, monitoring Link-16 Radio Frequency (RF) networks and Joint Range Extension Application Protocol (JREAP) connections
- Joint Multi-TDL Advance Course (JMAC) or US JID JT/AT-102 accreditation or equivalent
- Joint Range Extension (JRE) course
- Air Defence System Integrator (ADSI) course
- Amalgamated Remote Management System (ARMS) course
- Joint Multi-TDL Planners Course (JMPC) or equivalent (JT/AT-201)
- Supervisory experience within an MTN context (ICC or platform level)
- Interface Control Officer Course (AT-301)
- Operational platform experience on the MTN
