Oversee the direction of an accounting function while leading and developing individuals to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes.

You will manage a small team responsible for the annual budget process, production of quarterly and annual forecasts, driver-based analysis and reporting, cost allocations, and business partnering. You will contribute to process improvement via simplification and automation of accounting systems.

Your background
- Experience in management accounting and budgeting, ideally in a financial institution.
- Experience analysing accounting and financial risks and issues and advising management on themes and appropriate actions.
- Experience defining, developing, and delivering high quality consolidated or specific reports for an internal and external audience.
- Understanding of Bank-wide (or similar organisation) and area-specific policies and processes, and demonstrated ability to monitor and guide on compliance, as well as influence others outside of own area.
- Experience leading, developing, and motivating a work area or project of employees who exercise independence in their work, as well as implementing strategy.
- Experience managing accounting and budgeting systems.
- Fully qualified member of a professional accounting body in Australia (or international equivalent).

Your team

Finance Department is responsible for the Reserve Bank’s financial statements and taxation reporting obligations, prepares the Bank’s budget and provides a range of support services including corporate payments, payroll, staff contracts and on-boarding, and travel.

As part of the team, you will provide advice and insights, and deliver accurate and timely accounting and reporting services that contribute to the organisation's strategic goals. You will have exceptional communication skills and a passion for leading your team through challenges in a positive manner.

Your role is responsible for a team of 7 and reports to the Head of Finance Business Partnering. You will work closely with the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and Procurement teams within Finance, as well as Policy departments.
