**The opportunity**

The
**Data Governance Manager** is a leadership position established to lead governance of Silverchain’s growing collection and use of data. Reporting to the National Director, Research and Evidence, this position will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the data governance framework at Silverchain.

The position will be responsible for building capabilities across the organisation that support good data governance practice, security, and data integrity.

**Key responsibilities**

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Oversee the development and implementation of the Data Governance Framework for all data at Silverchain, encompassing compliance requirements with all applicable laws, regulations, and contemporary best practice.
- Manage the enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a focus on the data governance capabilities including improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through influencing and modifying organisational policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture.
- Lead “Data Governance by Design” limiting the role of human factors in data integrity and security.
- Implement a practical ongoing communication strategy across Silverchain around the requirements for data governance.
- Manage uplift and maturity of data governance practices across Silverchain through implementation of training and support programs that build capabilities across the organisation and ensure that staff meet their obligations to clients, legislation and the organisation.

**About you**
- Appropriate Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of a data governance framework, including policy and process development/refinement, within a large, complex organisation.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of data governance, privacy, and data security, ideally in a health or aged care context, including knowledge of potential risks and the regulatory landscape.
- Experience in developing and implementing professional development and training programs in data governance.
- Demonstrated program management skills, including financial management, and monitoring and reporting of data governance outputs.
- Proven ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders and successfully implement change management.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills, with flexibility and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
