**About the role**:
The Principal Finance Business Partner will work within our SEQ Finance business team based in Brisbane CBD.

This role will encompass aspects of a Systems Accountant and Finance Business Partner. It requires a detailed understanding of costing and budgeting process and systems, combined with the ability to lead process improvement activities collaboratively with Finance Business Partners.

**Day to day responsibilities include**:

- Lead a review of existing monthly financial reports provided to business managers. We are seeking a more consistent and efficient approach to month end reporting.
- Lead a transition from Microsoft Excel based reports to maximise the use of corporate reporting tools of SAP Hana and Tableau.
- Be a representative on the wider Finance Anaplan Community of Excellence (CoE) and be an active participant and advocate for future improvements.
- Document existing processes and create Quick Reference Guides for budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Develop a detailed understanding of labour costs to facilitate analysis and explanation of monthly budget variances.
- Assist in financial modelling of proposed business initiatives.
- Ad hoc tasks to support GM Finance.

**What you’ll bring**:

- Business improvement focus - being curious about how things work and how they can be improved.
- Analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial modelling.
- Ability to map and document processes.
- Effective communication and ability to influence finance peers.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Power Pivot & Query.
- SAP ERP experience.
- Anaplan, SAP Hana and Tableau experience highly desirable but not essential.
- Desirable to have an Accounting or Finance qualification.
