Botanic Gardens of Sydney is the registered business name of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, which is established under the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Act 1980.

The organisation encompasses Australia’s premier botanical research institute, Sydney’s leading outdoor live entertainment and activation precinct, and three world-leading botanic gardens and international tourism destinations.

Our **Executive Officer** role leads the delivery of high quality executive administrative, secretariat, and governance services for the Office of the Chief Executive, working closely with the Chief Executive and Senior Executives to support the operations of Botanic Gardens of Sydney, and provides timely executive coordination, communication, and professional support to the Chief Executive.

**About You**

To excel in this role, you’ll bring thorough knowledge of the Machinery of Government and experience in dealing with politically sensitive and confidential business issues. You will enjoy working in a dynamic, fast paced environment, bringing your expertise in Board governance and working closely with the Trust. You will have high level skills in managing briefing notes, liaison with Minister’s Office, Advisory Committees and the Audit and Risk Committee. You have a genuine passion for providing outstanding high quality executive administrative and secretariat services, have excellent communication skills, and a natural problem solver.

You will play a crucial part in driving strategic initiatives that shape Botanic Gardens of Sydney’s future, and will work on projects that require high-level coordination. Precision is key for this role; you will bring your high level of written, organisational, administrative and coordination skills including ability to plan and prioritise work with mínimal supervision. You will have the ability to anticipate and address contentious issues and provide accurate advice on complex issues, often within tight timeframes, by collecting and assimilating information from a variety of different sources whilst maintaining confidentiality and exercising diplomacy.
