Advisory Visiting Teacher

The Teacher works collaboratively with a Coach - Behaviour Support Service, reports to the South East Region Deputy Principal Education Officer - Behaviour Support Service, and Principal of their base school. The three roles will be based on different school sites, but work regionally in schools. They will work with other Behaviour Support Service Staff in a multidisciplinary team, which may include a Teacher aide.
As the Advisory Visiting Teacher - Behaviour Support Service you will:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of student behaviour support plans, in conjunction with a Coach, as well as staff at the requesting school
- Plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs for targeted students with complex behaviour needs in allocated classes and groups
- Work across schools in the South East Region, supporting improved student outcomes, including but not limited to students with disability and those who have experienced trauma.

- Knowledge of and the ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish a challenging learning environment in which students are encouraged to work towards attainment of their potential
- An understanding of the need to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes
Current Teacher registration is required for this role.

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
