Our manufacturing facility and maintenance team are critical to the ongoing success of the business. Therefore, to continue to remain ahead of the pack have made a significant investment in a new, state-of-the-art production facility to serve our expanding requirements. Our manufacturing plant is unique in Australia, with the latest European technology and expanded capacity. This new role is key to supporting continuous production.
Key Purpose of Role
The Packing Supervisor will be responsible for the entire operations within the Packaging section, ensuring all requirements for production, operation and quality are consistently achieved. This is a hands-on role requiring the incumbent to be on the factory floor for most of their shift.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate and motivate the packing team to complete all tasks required
- Responsible for work safety and product safety & quality. Report any hazards identified swiftly and work with management for corrective and preventative actions
- Maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness
- Report on achievement of operational targets for the day and general work planning - these will be reviewed in the daily Production meeting
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure they have the capability to meet all order requirements, sharing resources when required
- Drive the continual improvement of both processes and people
- Ensure team members are rostered for the shift efficiently and managed to meet requirements. This includes ensuring they are at work ready to commence work at the rostered start time and they are packing at a sufficient speed to meet the daily order requirements
- Manage daily production plan with Sales and Management team to complete orders on time and deliver products to customers on time
- Responsible for all QA checks in the section including but not limited to X-ray checks, metal checks, pack quality checks, label checks, allergen control, production control, Traceability control, cleaning program and other related activities
- Ensure GMP, hygiene, 5S and housekeeping standards are followed in packing
- Ensure all activities are documented and recorded on an appropriate platform for data collection
- Conduct packing induction and related skills training for all team members
- Conduct stock check for packaging and consumables to complete production orders
- Conduct and record team talks with all team members for continuous improvements
- Work closely with production and QA management to assist with daily operation, audits, and customer visits
- Daily maintenance of all equipment in the packing section
- Responsible for ongoing reduction in wage costs per donut target within the packing section
- Assist QA during non-conformance and customer complaints investigations
- Create labels on bartender software where necessary.
- Work with the management team and share duties and responsibilities when required
Experience and Qualifications
Essential experience:
- Solid experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry in a Supervisor position
- Strong leadership and training capabilities
- Problem solving skills
- Experience in food manufacturing and/or the FMCG industry will be highly regarded
- Experience managing information related to raw materials, packaging materials, finished products and packed stock
- Proven experience in following and maintaining GMP compliance
- Experience driving positive cultural change
- Microsoft Excel experience for data entry
- Ability to work in a cold environment
Desirable Qualifications:
- Cert IV in Competitive Manufacturing desirable, but not essential

Must have requirement: Full rights to work in Australia
**Salary**: $68,000 - $70,000 plus super
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
