The School of Population Health delivers a range of public health and psychology undergraduate courses and specialist postgraduate courses, as well as short courses designed for those working in the health sector who want to add new or specialist skills to their repertoire.

**Your New role**

In this impactful and rewarding role, you will provide research and administrative support to the Academic Project Lead across a range of functions associated with the successful execution of research projects. This may include coordinating project activities and implementing project deliverables, managing data and working with researchers to draft reports and research documentation.

This position presents an exciting opportunity to support a pilot program to translate mental health research into practice. The role will develop critical foundation work in conducting annual surveys with the student body to screen for suicide risk, oversee risk assessment calls, develop policy and implementation plans, and report writing. The role will provide opportunities to strengthen local and inter-jurisdictional networks across health systems, academic sectors, and non-government organisations.

**In this role, you will**
- Coordinate project activities and liaise with project stakeholders and participants to facilitate project outcomes.
- Participate in the conduct of research activities/experiments/field trips in accordance with the skills required of the position.
- Collate, synthesise, review and summarise information from literature searches.
- Analyse complex data sets, interpret experimental results, and document findings.
- Comply and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety criteria at all times.
- Comply with national and state legislation and regulations relevant to the research area’s activities and University requirements.
- Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above.

**We are looking for someone with**
- Demonstrated discipline specific knowledge and experience in relevant scientific/research methods, techniques and protocols, particularly in the field of suicide prevention or student mental health
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to coordinate and implement project activities, prioritise work activities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability analyse and present data.
- Demonstrated effective written communication skills with the ability to construct clear and concise reports.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with people of all levels with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and with others as a team.
