**About the role**

**Mater Research** (MR) has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **Research Support Officer** to join our leading **Centre of Research Excellence - Stillbirth** (Stillbirth CRE). This is a **full-time** position being offered as a **12-month maximum-term contract** with opportunity for extension.

This position is located at our South Brisbane campus, in our historical Aubigny Place and is responsible for all facets of research and administrative support for the Stillbirth CRE. This is your opportunity to join a Centre of Research Excellence that is truly making a difference.

**Salary range: $69,165.36 - $77,464.84 (Research Professional Level 5) plus superannuation plus salary packaging**

**What you’ll be doing**

Reporting to the Stillbirth CRE Director and Stillbirth CRE Senior Research Manager, Some of your key duties will include (but not limited to):

- Manage general day to day research administrative functions
- Assist the Research Manager in monitoring research activity and contracts
- Oversee maintenance of records of research, particularly administrative databases
- Oversee orientation of new CRE staff and processes
- Assist the Director and Research Manager in management of project study budgets
- Manage and coordinate meetings including event management support
- Providing general administrative services and support to the CRE team as required

***About you**

To be considered for this position, you will possess:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Experience in research or research support
- Demonstrated high level competence in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritise tasks
- An Ability to independently prepare correspondence and documents to a high, accurate standard
- Proactive in identifying areas for process and systems improvement
- An ability to work in a flexible and dynamic environment with competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Previous experience working with research agreements (highly desirable)
- Experience working in the higher education sector (highly desirable)
- Basic financial and budgeting skills (highly desirable)
