Regional Sales Manager

Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) is a subsidiary of Topcon Positioning Systems Inc. (TPS). TPA develops and manufactures leading-edge satellite positioning and guidance systems, electronic controls, mapping, monitoring, and land leveling solutions for agriculture.
Job Duties
- Maintain dealer and end user database.
- Phone response to dealer questions and queries, ensuring that dealers are responded to in a timely manner.
- Generate sales of Topcon’s Product range within the assigned Territory.
- Manage existing business relationships with Dealers.
- Find new opportunities with existing and prospective Dealers for Topcon’s range of Products.
- Develop and implement call schedules to maintain regular contact with each Dealer.
- Develop a detailed Territory Plan for the assigned territory that includes market size and growth, market segmentation, market trends, geographic attractiveness, product requirements within the territory, opportunity and gap analysis, and competitive threats.
- Develop Detailed Account Plans for each Dealer.
- Schedule, organise and attend Dealer sales and support training in Topcon Products.
- When necessary co-ordinate appropriate technical support to provide advanced or specialised training in Topcon Products when this is required.
- In conjunction with each Dealer schedule and assist in delivering education seminars and demonstrations of Topcon Products to the Dealers customers.
- Ensure each Dealer has all necessary sales, marketing and promotional aides available to sell Topcon Products. This includes current demonstration equipment, current brochures, point-of-sale display material, signage, and current price lists, sales and service bulletins.
- Ensure each Dealer has trained technical service personnel and that each Dealer is fully equipped with installation and service manuals for all of Topcon’s Products.
- Measure sales performance of Dealers in relation to sales forecasts, account plan objectives and budgets.
- Prepare, in conjunction with management, annual and monthly three-month rolling sales forecasts, and critically examine performance against targets.
- Work with and communicate with Topcon’s technical support, sales support, production, engineering, R & D and other departments on issues affecting our ability to deliver or accelerate sales opportunities.
- Work with marketing and technical support to develop and maintain the appropriate technical information and promotional material to support Topcon’s Dealers’ sales and marketing programs and initiatives.
- Maintain Topcon’s Customer Relationship Management system with customer contact information, visits and contact information.
- Submit regular reports on customer contacts and technical issues with completed and accurate information to enable diagnosis and resolution of product or service issues reported by Dealers.
- Complete and submit monthly territory reports on all sales, support and marketing activities.
- Promote and consistently demonstrate Topcon’s Vision and Values.
- Achieve sales targets within the assigned Territory.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills

- Computer skills in basic Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to perform under pressure within a team environment
- Mathematical ability to add, subtract, etc. to a suitable standard
- Attention to detail
- Negotiation skills
- Highly organized
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Strong analytical skills.
Experience
- 1-2 years experience in an agricultural environment
- Technical or Trade Qualifications in Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computing or Hydraulics or equivalent knowledge.
- Professional Sales or Management qualifications may be an advantage
