Reconciliation Analyst

Key purpose of this role (and team)

Join our dynamic Market Reconciliation team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the precision of financial transactions amounting to approximately $4 billion in AEMO settlement charges encompassing electricity and gas. Additionally, manage MSATS standing data and facilitate accurate reconciliations between various systems. By collaborating with the Retail, Network, and AEMO sectors, you will contribute to our commitment to accuracy, minimize risk, and uphold AGL's risk strategy, B2B procedures, and regulatory compliance.

As part of this team, you will leverage extensive datasets to not only ensure data accuracy but also to strategize how to leverage this invaluable information to safeguard AGL's assets. You will provide crucial insights to identify billing gaps and enhance operational efficiency for the benefit of our valued customers.

Key accountabilities of this role- Thorough Analysis and Solutions, Investigate causes of over/under charges in AEMO settlement, standing data, and 3-way reconciliations. Identify key factors behind revenue losses or overcharges by analyzing exceptions.- Efficient Charge Transmission, Develop streamlined processes for accurate charge transmission to AGL's customers. Optimize reconciliation procedures for better KPIs, including item reconciliation.- Effective Project Execution, Execute revenue protection projects with Compliance, Risk, and Assurance guidance. Deliver precise, timely project reports including updates, disputes, and overcharge recovery.- Collaborative Problem Solving, Support team by addressing systemic issues and proposing effective solutions. Collaborate proficiently with external parties and offshore partners.- Central Coordination and Engagement, Act as central escalation contact within Compliance, Risk, and Assurance. Coordinate offshore team for seamless reconciliation execution and KPI attainment. Engage with internal sectors to relay business needs and foster strong relationships.- Balanced Performance, Maintain equilibrium across metrics like productivity, quality, and compliance for optimal outcomes.

What you bring to the role- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL knowledge- Excellent interpersonal skills, with high-quality written and verbal communication skills- A strong understanding of the Energy industry is an advantage- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and drive a solution to completion- Flexibility and willingness to work on a range of tasks as delegated- Pro-active approach to continuous improvement- Ability to work independently and manage priorities within tight deadlines- Experience with process management, and delivery of process improvement opportunities including working with an offshore function- Tenured experience as a Business/Operational Analyst in similar or related businesses- Project management experience is an advantage
