The Head of Planning will lead and oversee the planning function within Freedom and is responsible for ensuring effective merchandise, supply, and demand planning strategies to optimise stock levels, maximise margins, minimise stockouts, and drive business growth.

What you'll be doing
- Partner with the Merchants on the development and maintaining of sales, markdown, margin, receipt, and inventory plans and developing the assortment and merchandise strategy at category and class level.
- Collaborate with Buying, Stores, Shipping & Logistics teams to optimise stock levels, maximize margins, and minimize stockouts.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, and customer demand to inform planning decisions.
- Drive analysis and collaborate on strategy to optimize and further rationalize our supply chain and factory network.
- Communicate clearly and widely across both the senior team and the wider business any key revisions to sales, margin, markdown, purchasing, or inventory forecasts including providing clear context on the “so what” of any changes to ensure stakeholder and strategic alignment across the business.
- Lead the analysis and review of key data such as category performance by store/region, lost sales opportunities, return on stock investment (GMROI), pricing policy, and further sales and margin opportunities within and beyond the product mix.
- Lead and own the forecast group within Freedom to continually update the forward sales, inventory, and capacity forecasts.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of professionals within the planning and supply chain functions.

Who you are
- Extensive and proven experience (5-6 years or more) in retail merchandise planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, allocation or replenishment, financial planning, or financial analysis experience.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, strong aptitude with numbers, retail math skills, advanced analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Financial acumen and budget management capabilities.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
