**Cyber Security Risk Analyst**

**Position Purpose**:
As a technical risk specialist, you will leverage your technical and systems knowledge to provide guidance to ICT system owners, project teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist in coordinating certification and accreditation activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work priorities, and managing workflows to ensure accurate completion of work within specified timeframes and quality standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve ICT security, continuously evaluate business outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyse security risks and their business impacts, providing guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks effectively.
- Communicate complex security risks to managers and peers.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders from various technical specialties to collaborate on ICT security policy development.
- Identify areas of risk and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the University's ICT risk management approach.
- Assess and resolve identified security incidents in accordance with established procedures, recommending necessary actions or policy amendments.
- Interpret security policies and contribute to the development of standards and guidelines.

**Qualifications, Experience, and Skills**:
**Required**:

- Minimum of 5 years of technical ICT experience, with at least 3 years in a cyber security role.
- Familiarity with Government security policies and publications, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Experience with the implementation, support, or use of industry standards such as ISO 27000 series, NIST, and ISO 31000.

**Desired**:

- Knowledge of NIST and MITRE frameworks, Essential Eight, Information Security Manual, and ISO 27001.
- Familiarity with ASIO protective security guidelines, Defence Industry Security Program, and Defence Security Principles Framework.
