**Work Location**: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

**Roster**:Monday to Friday

Due to an internal promotion a rare opportunity exists for a motivated and driven leader to oversee the Fortescue Group Safety and Compliance division. In this position you will be responsible for the development and leadership of the Fortescue Group Health and Compliance teams and the execution of both transaction and strategic delivery plans. Supporting the Energy and Metals businesses both locally across the Australian operations and emerging overseas projects and operations in areas such as Gabon, UK and Norway.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Providing visible leadership to the Safety and Compliance team members.
- Executing the Group Safety and Compliance strategic projects and charters.
- Execute the compliance service delivery model for operations.
- Provide support and coaching to senior leaders on legislation and compliance requirements.
- Oversee and support the assurance processes of key safety and compliance performance indicators.
- Identify and drive improvement and innovation to existing group processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with industry peers and local regulators.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a senior H&S leadership role, ideally within the mining, port or rail industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and build effective relationships at all levels.
- Strategic planning and project management skills with an understanding of budget administration.
- Well-developed leadership, coaching and facilitation skills.
