**As the Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator your responsibilities will include**:

- Overall responsibility and take a leadership role for Infection Prevention & Control practices and strategies.
- Have a good understanding of Infection Prevention & Control practices, implementing risk management strategies to protect patients, staff and visitors, from acquiring a healthcare associated infection and provide a healthy working environment for all staff.
- Ensuring the hospital operates in accordance with applicable standards and complies with regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as striving for continuous improvement.
- The coordination and implementation of the infection control program to ensure high quality patient care and staff safety in the area of infection control
- Assisting the external Infection Control Consultants (HICMR) in the implementation of the infection control management plan
- The infection control education program
- Overseeing the staff health program
- Ensuring a safe practice and working environment for staff

**Essential Criteria**:

- Authority to Work in Australia
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
- Immunisation certificate (or working towards) (Desirable)
- Auditing skills
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
