Project Support Officer, South Sudanese Australian

The Project Support Officer is a new role and will report to the Team Leader, and work closely with the Senior Project Officer to support the administration and operations of the Expert Working Group project. This includes project and business support for the Senior Project Officer, Team Leader and the Principal Commissioner's engagement with children and young people in community consultations.
You will support the team by providing administrative and secretariat support for the project's Youth Advisory Group, including community engagement with children and young people of South Sudanese and or African heritage who may have personal experience with Victoria's youth justice system. The role will involve:
- working closely with the Senior Project Officer to support the administration and governance of the project's Youth Advisory Group and engagement with South Sudanese Australian young people through Youth Forums
- supporting and working with the team to engage with relevant departments and agencies about individual outcomes and systemic improvements
- supporting the thematic analysis of data, community consultations and individual action plans
- other project-based tasks as directed.
The role operates within a complex environment that requires capacity to be highly responsive, organised, agile and able to communicate clearly and effectively liaise with key stakeholders.
The Project Support Officer will also liaise closely with the DJCS Priority Projects team and support the South Sudanese Australian Youth Justice Expert Working Group

- have well developed communication skills
- be able to manage a range of competing priorities
- work in a fast-paced team environment.
