**The Project**
The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including:
- Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga)
- Blamey Barracks (Kapooka)
- RAAF Base Wagga
The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
- Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
- Construction of new training facilities
- Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
- Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services
**Your opportunity**
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Area Manager (Project manager) will ensure the project is delivering on time, cost, safety and to quality. The role demands a strong focus on leadership to achieve required outcomes of the work area with a large team of engineers and supervisors to manage.
Our minimum requirements for this role are:
- Experience in a similar role on a large complex building or infrastructure project
- Outstanding interpersonal, liaison, networking, team and individual leadership skills
- Experience in managing a large sub-contractor environment
- An ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities in a high-volume work environment
- Analytical and strategic thinking
- A strong commercial focus with demonstrated business acumen
- Relationship management, conflict management and resolution and problem solving expertise
- A commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of high performance that consistently delivers results and behaviour that exceed expectations
- Relevant tertiary qualification
This role is locally based and for those outside of Albury/Wodonga/Wagga areas, relocation is required. An attractive relocation package that includes removalist cost and a LAFHA (for eligible individuals) will be made available to the successful applicant.
