**Environmental, Safety and Planning Assessment Team Leader**:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Safety and Planning Assessment Team Leader at the Perth CBD Office, on a Full-Time Permanent basis.

**About this role**

As the Environmental, Safety and Planning Assessment (ESPA) Team Leader, you will be required to lead and manage the performance of the team within the Safety, Environment, Quality and Training (SEQT) Function.
- Lead the performance and development of the team through effective leadership and peer support to enable effective workload planning, prioritisation, management and delivery, including quality assurance checks and reviews.
- Lead and manage the team’s performance in environmental, planning and/or heritage assessments to facilitate the delivery of the works program (including technical/operational, approvals, strategy and risk).
- Support the development and review of network related SEQT procedures governing access to the network for the purpose of design, construction, maintenance, inspection and decommissioning.
- Influence the development and prioritisation of Western Power’s strategic network plans, network development plan and strategic network SEQT programs, to acquit our regulatory obligations and agreements.
- Develop and manage relationships with external environment, heritage, planning and infrastructure stakeholders to ensure the appropriate placement of our network assets.
- Influence and support internal stakeholders to promote awareness and effectively manage SEQT impacts and risks associated with the network and our workforce.

**About you**

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

- Bachelor’s Degree qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline.
- Demonstrated people management, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated work management and delivery skills.
- 8 + years’ extensive experience working in infrastructure, construction or other technically based industries with complex operational safety, environmental, approval and community issues.
- Experience speaking in public forums where stakeholders have opposing interests.
- Sound experience in the development of regional and local planning schemes and SEQT and/ or community impact assessments.
- Sound knowledge of construction, maintenance and operational field practices.
- Sound knowledge of statutory approvals planning policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and written skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise work and critically assess own performance.
- Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and strategy development.
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
