**ANIMAL COMPLIANCE OFFICER (STATUTORY LAWS)**

We are currently looking for experienced and entry level Animal Management officers who are interested in joining the Local Government team.

Seeking and enthusiastic Animal Compliance Officer to improve the safety and amenity of the City through the administration of consistent licensing and animal keeping approval process, ensuring the best practice compliance activities through the promotion of responsible pet ownership.

**About The Role**
- $33.94/hour + Super
- Monday to Friday
- 8.00am to 5.00pm
- Work-life balance with a 9-day fortnight
- Kingston Location - Work close to home

**Your Responsibilities**
- You will conduct annual inspections of license and approval holders to ensure compliance with State Legislation, Local Laws and conditions of approval
- Undertake appropriate enforcement action for non-complaint approval and licence holders
- Carry out history checks on properties to determine previous breaches of legislation and prescribed activity and ensure a reliable body of evidence has been where breaches are detected
- Maintain clear and factual records through accurate data entry in Council’s corporate systems and conducting audits
- Deliver the highest quality service to all stakeholders including your community, the Animal Care team and other council staff
- Display engaging interpersonal skills to communicate complex concepts in plain language and building collaborative and respectful relationships with the community

**What We’re Looking For**
- A thorough knowledge of animal management is advantageous
- Cert IV in Investigations or Animal Management is highly regarded
- Sound practical experience consulting on and assessing animal keeping and licensing
- Proven ability to conduct investigations and inspections within the parameters of relevant legislation, local laws, council policies, plans and programs
