**The Role**

Medibank is seeking an experienced individual to join our Financial Control Leadership team as Head of Treasury and Investments. Reporting to the Senior Executive - Financial Control you’ll lead investment management and treasury operations and play a crucial role in guiding and monitoring our investment portfolio strategies.

**Your impact**

As the Head of Treasury and Investments your primary responsibility is the management of Medibank’s investment portfolio assets including:

- Responsibility of the directly managed fixed income portfolios including setting investment strategy, overseeing strategy execution and managing the investment team.
- Establishing and implementing investment management policies and frameworks.
- Leading and guiding the external asset consultant in establishing the Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation strategies.
- Preparing and presenting reports to the Investment and Capital Committee including internal and externally managed portfolio performance, risk management responsible investment (ESG), liquidity and policy reviews.
- Managing third party relationships relevant to the investment management function including the asset consultant, fund managers, banks and custodian.
- Management of external investment managers covering domestic equity, global equity, property, infrastructure, absolute return and syndicated loans.
- Preparing commentary for all associated internal and external reporting and governance requirements with the Senior Executive - Financial Control.
- Current key areas of focus for the role is the successful implementation of APRA’s LAGIC framework within the PHI industry and selection and transition of the investment custodian.

You will also be responsible for treasury management including maintaining treasury banking relationships relating to operational and debt funding, and ensuring liquidity is at all times sufficient to meet the group’s operational and regulatory requirements.

**What we’re looking for**

A dynamic leader with a wealth of experience operating in trading and investment roles. You’ll bring experience operating in a similar corporate environment, ideally within insurance or a similar regulated organisation. You have advanced capabilities in investment markets, economics, mathematics and spreadsheets.

Your ability to engage and advise internal stakeholders at the board and executive level, and external stakeholders will be vital in this role. You are passionate about mentoring people, and can extend this leadership beyond your direct team across the Finance and Strategy team.

To be considered for this role you must hold a CFA with an undergrad in a relevant finance and/or economics degree.
