**Job Description**:
The team

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Rail Operations Modeller to join our growing Rail Strategy and Operations team based in Melbourne.

The team works closely with our clients to provide high-quality rail operations modelling and strategic advice utilising scientific analysis and extensive industry knowledge. Our team works on some of the most exciting infrastructure projects across Australia such as the Melbourne Metro Tunnel, Brisbane’s Cross River Rail, and Canberra Light Rail.

**We help our clients answer key questions**:
+ How does planned infrastructure impact the timetable and operations?

+ What impact does planned infrastructure have on travel time?

+ What can we do to improve operations and better utilise existing assets?

+ How should the rail network be improved to deal with growth?

+ How do we efficiently invest in developing the corridor/network for future needs?

About the role

As a Graduate Rail Operations Modeller at AECOM, your work will involve the following:
+ Conducting rail operations modelling such as timetable analysis, strategic assessments, dynamic simulations, infrastructure updating and travel time evaluations.

+ Using RailSys software and Excel to undertake rail operational modelling.

+ Engaging with stakeholders and project teams to source information, clarify issues and communicate findings.

+ Developing reports and presentations to communicate outcomes to a wide range of stakeholders.

+ Contributing to proposals and other business development activities to support the Rail Strategy and Operations team and the wider AECOM team.

You will work closely with our clients on a wide range of projects across Australia. We are often part of multidisciplinary teams, so you will be working with other transport modellers, engineers and project managers on large projects and engage with different disciplines involved in project delivery.

You will have opportunities to support other advisory teams within AECOM such as the Demand Modelling and Transport Planning teams and to work with the wider AECOM business in areas such as project management, the development of relationships with key clients, business support and in various committees.
