APRA has a large program of work underway to support more effective data-driven decision-making by internal and external stakeholders to inform better regulation. A key outcome is the collection of deeper and broader datasets from industries that APRA regulates i.e., Banking, Superannuation, and Insurance. In addition, APRA will continue to strengthen its partnerships with peer agencies such as ASIC, by collecting data once and sharing it with other agencies, thus reducing the burden on industry.

The data collection process is in the midst of moving to a new data collection platform. This is a key strategic program for APRA and delivers significant change to the way internal stakeholders will access and use the data and to the industries that need to provide the data.

In addition to utilising and implementing APRA’s existing IT test strategy and practices, the Test Manager will extend the scope of testing across APRA’s Data Analytics and Insights division. A test approach is needed to ensure end-to-end testing is carried out across the full value chain of collecting data, curating data, and conveying insights to internal and external stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to developing and implementing a strategy for test data across environments and platforms, and automated regression testing.

This is a multi-year program expected to complete by 2027.

**About the Role**

**Key Tasks**
- Utilising existing and defining new best practice testing deliverables, templates, and processes, and working with key stakeholders to agree roles and responsibilities related to the testing process.
- Defining target testing outcomes in the initiation phase, via a test approach document, as a blueprint of testing activities and outcomes for the execution phase.
- Preparing and running workshops and interviews with external stakeholders and regulators, and internal stakeholders across APRA to elicit and understand testing requirements and objectives.
- Assessing business requirements and solutions, and their impacts and benefits, and understanding business capabilities and priorities.
- Working with and mentoring test analysts to ensure testing is executed as per plan, and performing hands-on testing when required.
- Preparing the test schedule and resourcing plan for each delivery and provide regular execution status updates using tools such as Jira.
- Inspecting and reporting on testing activities and outcomes to assist with continuous improvement to project delivery practices.
- Reporting on traceability of test cases through to requirements and delivered outcomes.

**About you**
- Significant experience working as a Test Manager interacting with both technical and business teams, having delivered several projects from inception to closure
- Successfully uplifted an organisation’s testing capability by embedding industry standard testing frameworks and processes
- Strong test planning and execution skills including the production of test strategy, test approach and test plans
- Demonstrable experience developing strategies around test data, environments, and automated testing
- Excellent communication, reporting-writing, and presentation skills with a strong stakeholder focus
- Strong familiarity with business and IT project lifecycles - analysis, design, build, test, and implementation. Iterative, Agile, and Waterfall experience
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively with senior business and IT stakeholders
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant industries supervised by APRA, including broad knowledge of industry trends and regulatory developments is desirable.
