Our client is one of Australia’s leading fabrication and installation contracting companies providing specialised services to the Steel, Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical, Mining, Defence and Water industries. They are a well-resourced, diversified engineering and fabrication company with an enviable track record of completing major industrial projects mainly in South Australia.

**About the role**

The Workshop Manager will provide backup and support for members of the management team and members.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Effective coordination of warehouse staff
- Providing continues reporting to the Manager Director and Project Managers
- Ensuring fabrication activities are conducted within budget and on time
- Overseeing the operations of a fast-moving warehouse
- Daily activity reporting and KPI reporting
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S requirements
- Ensuring the Company is fully complainant with the Environmental legislation
- Providing quality customer service to customers
- Maintaining Plant, Vehicle and Equipment registrations
- Achieving individual KPIs
- Proven experience in a management role
- Fabrication industry experience
- Knowledge of heavy industry environment
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have knowledge of piping and structural steel and welding procedures
- Strong knowledge of HR Legislation, HSE Legislation and practices
- Strong understanding of Profitability of contracts and tenders, profit and sales, budgeting, and capital expenditure
- Proven experience in managing a team of Supervisors and mechanical trades personnel
- Recognised qualification or extensive experience in the Technical/Engineering area
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and work alone with mínimal supervision
- Hold a White card or are willing to obtain a white card
