Principal Project Officer

Provide strategic and policy advice to the Director, Executive Director, and Deputy Director-General to ensure policy settings foster and support private sector investment in the development of the regional economy. Manage the contractual arrangements with the Regional Australia Institute, including providing advice and direction on key policy and research projects. Coordinate the provision of Queensland governments strategic advice and direction to the Commonwealth on regional development, including supporting the department with the Rural & Regional National Reform Committee. Facilitate the expansion of the region's economic base by providing specialist project facilitation assistance to support private sector investment in key manufacturing projects. Provide accurate and timely reports, briefings, submissions and other documentation that may be required. Facilitate and assist industry with their interaction with other agencies and levels of government. Develop and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with regional stakeholders and other government agencies. Demonstrate commitment to the Department's corporate values of strong customer service, teamwork, open communication, leadership and innovation. Other duties as directed and required.
