Sector Capacity Building Worker

**About the Opportunity**:
The Family Reconciliation and Mediation Program (FRMP) is a state-wide program funded by the Victorian Government. FRMP works to strengthen the capacity of youth homelessness and other relevant service systems to support young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to family breakdown. Young people are supported to: stay or return home, if safe and appropriate, recover from trauma related to family conflict and breakdown, connect/reconnect with family or other natural supports With the aim of supporting better outcomes for young people at risk of homelessness due to family breakdown, The Sector Capacity Building Worker is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of innovative sector capacity building activities. The Sector Capacity Building Worker will also manage brokerage funds for a range of therapeutic interventions and family mediation.
**Essential**:
- Relevant qualifications in human services, community development or social work, or extensive community sector experience.
- Experience in networking and developing partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills encompassing interpersonal, verbal and written, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with sector capacity building processes and functions.
- Understanding of causes of and issues confronting young people experiencing homelessness as a result of family breakdown.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting young people with complex needs and their families
**Desirable**:
- Project management experience
- Practice experience within the youth homelessness service sector
