Retail Sales Assistant

We seek a dynamic and experienced Retail Sales Assistant to lead our boutique bulk food store in Healesville. You will oversee all aspects of operations, customer service, and inventory management. You will be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards, driving sales, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring an outstanding customer shopping experience.
**Responsibilities**:
- _Operational Excellence:_
- Manage day-to-day store operations efficiently, ensuring smooth functioning of all processes.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Implement and uphold store policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Monitor and optimise the layout and merchandising of products for an attractive and organised store environment.
- _Customer Service:_
- Foster a customer-centric culture by delivering exceptional service and promptly resolving customer inquiries or issues.
- Develop strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through engagement and personalised service.
- Gather customer feedback and insights to improve offerings and overall experience.
- _Sales and Performance:_
- Drive sales growth through effective marketing strategies, promotions, and upselling techniques.
- Analyse sales reports and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and implement action plans accordingly.
- Set and achieve sales targets while maintaining profitability.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience (3 years minimum) in retail, preferably in a bulk food or grocery setting.
- Good physical strength as the role requires some heavy lifting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in inventory management and stock rotation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Familiarity with bulk food industry trends and practices.
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management software.
