Position details
The Compliance Officer supports the energy division's compliance team in delivering its compliance and monitoring activities. This includes raising awareness of Victoria's energy laws, regulations and rules, producing guidance, and influencing business compliance. With a growing work program, the role will suit those who enjoy working across a range of tasks and can adapt to changing priorities.
Depending on the needs of the compliance team and the skills of the incumbent, the role will contribute to compliance and monitoring activities by assessing potential regulatory breaches, drafting correspondence, developing compliance strategies, setting compliance priorities and producing guidance for energy customers.
The role will also support and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across the energy division. It will also liaise and respond to routine enquiries from external stakeholders, including energy businesses, consumer groups and industry groups.
This is a six-month fixed term role, with the potential for further opportunity within the division. Please refer to the attached position description for the principal functions and key selection criteria.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:
- Making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
- Undertaking reviews and providing advice to Ministers on a range of economic and regulatory matters.
- Administering the Victorian Energy Upgrades program.
