**Job Description**:
We are seeking a Scientific Officer to become part of a dynamic team providing laboratory services and scientific support to staff and students in the Health Group teaching programs.

The Scientific Officer is part of the Technical Partners Team and collaborates closely with professional staff to provide a comprehensive range of technical and scientific support to student teaching and learning activities within specialised laboratory facilities principally for the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences.

This is a continuing, full time position and is primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 5 range $74,016 - $83,033 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,598 - $97,148 per annum.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and with the fundamental understanding of laboratory operations and terminology in the context of Health Science. You will also have, but not limited to:

- A relevant bachelor’s degree in Biomedical and/or Biomolecular Sciences with majors in molecular genetics, molecular diagnostics, or microbiology as well as relevant experience working in the laboratory environment and/or a combination of equivalent qualifications, relevant knowledge, training, and experience
- Be highly organised, confident in a laboratory environment with a demonstrated ability to take direction
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritise duties with a general passion within Health Science
- Possess a high level of attention to detail including taking the appropriate administrative actions
- Can work independently or within a team, keeping a priority on H&S
