This role sits within the multi-disciplinary team of the Ringwood Family Relationship Centre (RFRC) which was established in 2006. FRC’s are funded by the Federal Government and are designed to offer support to strengthen families, support to families to stay together and support for separating families by providing counselling and family dispute resolution services.

**Who we’re looking for**
As part of our Ringwood FRC, EACH is looking for an intake worker to provide intake and screening assessment to a diverse range of clients engaging with the RFRC (telephone/in person), often in challenging situations. You will need to maintain an advanced understanding of services provided at the RFRC as well as an understanding of EACH services and the wider service sector such as legal, courts, family violence and mental health.

You will need to be able to demonstrate patience and respect of the situations you are presented with, and bring well developed verbal and written communication skills to the team.

We need you to have effective time management and organisational skills, but also a strong commitment to quality client service provision, excellence, and innovation in work practices. Experience working in an Intake & Assessment Role would be an advantage.

**What you’ll be doing**
The Intake position supports all parts of the program, providing every client with screening and assessment at the point of first contact and any reengagements with the service. The role of the intake worker at the Ringwood FRC incorporates some capacity to conduct FDR assessments and sessions as/when required (if FDRP accredited) and can require attendance at case discussion meetings to assist with purposeful and appropriate case allocation.
- Success will look like;_
- Assisting clients to find appropriate service for their needs, including assisting with referrals to external providers.
- Completing all administrative tasks associated with processing the Intake requirements for the client including all risk assessments.
- Undertaking child focused continuous risk assessment and safety planning with mindfulness to child abuse or psychological harm, family violence, mental illness, addiction, disability.
- Engaging positively and in a culturally appropriate manner people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

A negotiated limited hybrid office-based and working from home option is available.

The children’s welfare is the centre of our work and their needs are our primary focus. Formal and informal debriefing and counselling is provided and professional development is available if required.
