What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified, professional, enthusiastic and committed applicants wishing to be considered for an ongoing position with the Professional Standards (PRS) Integrity Compliance Team.

The role of PRS is to maintain, promote and enhance integrity of the AFP through:
a proactive integrity framework incorporating the development and delivery of misconduct and corruption prevention strategies.
Complaint management through investigation and resolution of misconduct, practice issues and corruption matters.

As a team member of PRS within the Integrity Compliance team you will play a pivotal role in managing requests for PRS information and supporting compliance with legislative requirements.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

**As a valued member of the team your duties will include**:
Overseeing and monitoring all information requests and correspondence to the PRSOMC inbox
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Processing FOI requests for PRS information, received via the AFP FOI team
Assessing and preparing responses to Subpoena in conjunction with AFP Legal
Develop and maintain an understanding of the Professional Standards framework
Responding and providing advice on the release of PRS information, to:
General requests for information from AFP Legal
Comcare requests for information i.e. Section 71 Notices under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988
Ombudsman requests for information i.e. Section 8 requests under the Ombudsman Act 1976
General requests for information and advice from AFP internal business areas or directly from AFP appointees
External agency requests for information
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
Excellent communication, attention to detail and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Requirements

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Recent qualification or recent experience and knowledge in responding to FOI requests and/or subpoenas would be highly regarded.
