**The Role**

The Manager - Purchasing leads the operational procurement team who work with end users to purchase goods and services to support ongoing operations. The role reports into the Head of Procurement and works closely alongside the Manager - Strategic Sourcing and Manager - Warehouse to drive effective supply across the business. This role requires a strong focus on leadership, adding commercial value, monitoring KPI’s, streamlining processes and communicating to staff across the business to ensure effective procurement and business outcomes.

The role currently has eight direct reports. You will use your extensive experience in procurement to put a focus on streamlining internal process, cross team collaboration, high levels of customer satisfaction and driving effective procurement outcomes for end users.

You will work in accordance with CBH values and demonstrate reliability, collaboration, respect and sustainability across safety, stakeholders, staff development and procurement accountabilities.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract for 18 Months to cover an internal secondment.

**Key Responsibilities**- Lead and mentor the Purchasing team to enable best practises, develop technical and soft skills and maintain and drive high levels of employee engagement.- Stakeholder management across central and front-line teams to support business outcomes.- Drive a commercial culture through strategic advice and effective procurement practises.- Support implementation of supplier contracts through collaboration with strategic sourcing, warehouse, central function, supplier and front-line staff.- Promoting and educating end users regarding procurement policy and process- Leading purchasing activity to ensure goods and services are delivered to internal customers on time, in full and in accordance with customer needs and requirements.- Leading the Purchasing team to achieve a high level of internal customer satisfaction.- Implement improvements to purchasing processes across systems, policies and procedures. es.- Analysing the market to identify price trends and future availability of materials and goods, locating vendors, negotiating prices, preparing requisitions and purchase orders and maintaining purchase records.- Reporting and insight into team and business performance.- Key role in the current S4 Hana implementation across design, build, test and change management phases.- Accountability for procurement master data within SAP and Ariba.- Accountable for effective vendor end to end onboarding process (SAP and Ariba).- Responsible for operational effectiveness of Ariba purchasing platform.- Fleet management for CBH passenger vehicles.- Capable of providing backfill for all members of the team where required.

**Skills and Experience**- Degree qualified (ideally Business, Finance, Supply Chain).- People management.- Effective communication skills across all levels of the business.- History of improving processes and strong internal customer focus.- 8+ years procurement experience across end to end procurement lifecycle.- Ability to influence across wide stakeholder base.- Analytical and commercial mindset.- Strategic problem solver.- Strong planning and organisation skills
