**Anglo American Steelmaking Coal**
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

**Job Description**:

- Understanding the geological setting of Steelmaking Coal’s operations is key to delivering an integrated Geoscience solution that encompasses exploration, geological modelling and operational geology. Steelmaking Coal currently has three defined complexes in which it operates, Northern Region, Central Region and Southern Region. These three regions encompass the Moranbah North and Grosvenor Operations in the Northern Region, Capcoal Operations, including Aquila in the Central Region and Dawson Mine in the Southern Region and include all surrounding Steelmaking Coal tenures.

The Exploration Operations Supervisor is accountable for the delivery of Exploration field operations in accordance with the applicable site safety & health management systems (SHMS) and operational schedule. As an appointed supervisor you will strongly focus on contractor management, safe & efficient execution of field work, logistics and ensuring compliance to environmental standards and permits.

The role will be rewarding and varied and will involve the following:

- Ensure the safe and controlled delivery of exploration programs by supervising field work and contractor safety & health performance.
- Conduct initial site inspections to assess and control program/work safety risks.
- Ensure contractor pre-mobilisation tasks are completed prior to field operations taking place.
- Contribute to the development of exploration program schedules and budgets.
- Contribute to the development of landowner agreements and environmental permits.
- Supervise and coordinate the mobilisation of assigned contractors and their equipment.
- Ensure compliance to land access processes.

**Qualifications**:

- To be successful in this role you will have:

- Minimum of 5 year's experience supervising field work within exploration, mining or large-scale projects.
- Contractor management experience.
- Basic financial metrics & budgeting/scheduling capability.

Legislative requirements (or willingness to obtain):

- Standard 11 Induction.
- RIIWHS301E Conduct Safety & Health Investigations (G8, formerly S2).
- RIICOM301E Communicate Information (G9, formerly S3).
- RIIRIS402E Carry Out Risk Management Processes (G2).

- Based at our Central (Middlemount) exploration complex
- Reoster 11 days on, and 10 days off
