We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service.

**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Neurosurgery Team as **Neurosurgical Registrar (Prevocational)** from 5th February 2024 to 2nd February 2025

Your initial rotation will be in the position of Neurosurgical Registrar for a period of 12 months.
As per the SMOEA 2023, the total of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

As the Neurosurgical Registrar will contribute to the clinical care of Neurosurgery inpatients and outpatients of WCH, participate in after hours on call Neurosurgery roster as required including other SA Health sites and adult neurosurgery and participate in clinical teaching and participate in associated research projects.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you require a minimum of 2 years satisfactory experience as an Intern/Resident Medical Officer in a recognised teaching hospital or equivalent overseas experience and training.

You will have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.

If you have a demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the patient, are able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting and you can communicate, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues, then this role is for you.
