**Role**:
Leads the development and implementation of the College’s strategy towards improved Numeracy outcomes for students. Leads the coordination of the move to an online data platform and leading the collection of school level assessment data across the school. Works with curriculum team of Domain Leaders to coordinate curriculum, assessment and reporting operations.
The Numeracy and Data Learning Specialist will primarily work with the Domain Leaders and Professional Learning Communities to ensure outstanding learning opportunities are provided to students along with the ongoing improvement of learning outcomes.
**Responsibilities**:
Scope
Reports to the Assistant Principal for Curriculum. Works as a member of the School Improvement Team and Curriculum team. Co-leads the delivery of PLC’s and curriculum related meetings. Leads the set up and roll out of a new data platform with staff, students and parents/carers for school wide use. Manages 6-8 FTE's.
Responsiblities
- Support Principal Class and be an active member of the School Improvement Team
- Work closely with the School Improvement Team with strategic data use and building practice excellence
- Upskill School Improvement Team to track and monitor student learning and platform data
- Lead the NAPLAN coordination at both yr 7 and 9 including an agreed and distributed NAPLAN week timetable
- Ensure LLL’s are provided with summarised NAPLAN data for their year level to use with teachers including current and trend data
- Lead the running of NAPLAN and AToSS Survey, Parent Opinion Survey and School Staff Surveys
- Oversee how data is used for strategic planning and how it is used to inform practice at yr 7-12
- Support Senior School Assistant Principal to effectively use VASS data to inform overall senior school data improvements
- Developing and reinforcing a culture and expectation that every child can make progress in Mathematics and
Numeracy across the curriculum
- Consulting with the curriculum committee members to review and develop resources and units of work relevant to Mathematics & Numeracy
- Investigate and implement a targeted Numeracy intervention program within the junior school.
- Develop and implement processes for how data is distributed to LLL’s and used more widely across the school
- Lead the development and execution of the data assessment schedule for yr 7-10 with alignment to assessment at yr 11-12
- Support the delivery of whole staff professional development
- Represent the College at appropriate events in a professional manner
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in one’s own practice as both a teacher and an educational leader and assist others in their professional growth
- Lead the implementation of current pedagogy and curriculum practice
- Support the leadership of the Mathematics Domain to lead numeracy improvements across the college
- Additional tasks and roles as allocated by the Principal
