Instrument Technician - Grade 3

Permanent part-time position - 32 hours per week.

About the role

Cabrini Brighton is seeking an Instrument Technician Grade 3 to work on a casual basis in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD).

The shifts at Cabrini Brighton are between 06.30 - 23.30 five days a week, AM and PM shifts. Instrument technicians typically rotate through all phases of the reprocessing cycle.

The Instrument Technician role reports to the Manager CSSD.

Key responsibilities:
- Using/monitoring of Steam and Sterrad sterilizers.- Cleaning, setting up, and wrapping instrument trays.- Using an electronic tracking system.- Carry out all testing for equipment.- Transfer of sterile items to appropriate departments.- This position requires lifting instrument trays up to 7.5kgs._

About you

Along with recent proven experience as an Instrument Technician (12 months post certificate) and a commitment to providing a high level of service, you will have the following:
- Certificate III in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent- Demonstrated knowledge of sterilization standards.- High level of customer service skills.- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.- Effective communication, interpersonal and time management skills.- Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S in the workplace.
