Chief Operations Office (COO) is responsible for servicing multiple brands within the Group internationally, delivering a highly flexible operations environment, outstanding customer experiences and better risk outcomes. This is achieved through end-to-end process management, use of innovative new technologies and a cross-skilled, capable workforce.

The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a first line of defence function that provides comprehensive and integrated risk services in support of the COO. The value proposition of the CCO is to provide skilled, practical and efficient risk management to support the COO in the delivery of excellent business and customer outcomes.

The primary role of Risk and Control Enablement to support Market Operations leaders fulfill their risk accountabilities in line with the respective Group Risk Management Frameworks. The role also provides support to leaders in the identification of operational and regulatory risk and controls, along with actions to manage deficiencies.

**Team**:
This role is part of the Market Operations Chief Controls Office function and supports the middle office and operations teams for Global Markets, Group Treasury, and Commodities, Trade & Carbon.

As their embedded Line 1 Risk function, we are responsible for providing end to end risk advisory services across project implementation, issue and incident management, control development and uplift.

You will contribute to an engaged team of results-driven, high performers focused on executing to high standards.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Risk and Control Enablement and build and manage productive relationships with the following individuals and groups:

- Market Operations Leaders
- Line 1 and Line 2 Compliance
- Financial Crimes Compliance
- Line 2 Operational Risk and Assurance
- IB&M Product Management and the respective Line 1 Risk
- Operations Chief Controls Office staff and peers

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for supporting the MO business in the implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) and Compliance Management Framework (CMF).
- Manage root cause analysis of issues and incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements for the business areas they support.
- Work with value-chain stakeholders to ensure end-to-end oversight of the risk and control environment of our Product and Channel portfolios.
- Advise the business on the effective design of controls for all new and changing processes and operations, and support the business through implementation.
- Responsible for data quality in various databases (including RiskInSite) and regular management reporting.
- Identify, initiate and manage actions to mitigate risks and to strengthen controls, including issues identified through audits and other external processes
- Contribute to a proactive risk and control culture and collaborate with the business
- Responsible for ensuring risks are profiled and captured in the MO Business Profile and updated when risk trigger events occur
- Leverage productive and proactive working relationships with Lines 2 & 3, regulators and the broader Chief Controls Office teams
- Inform and influence senior stakeholders for better risk outcomes

**We're interested in hearing from people who have**:

- Knowledge of Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks (incl. incident and issue management)
- Knowledge of/experience with financial markets products would be advantageous
- Effective communication and negotiating skills, the ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to assess inherent risks and design mitigating controls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work and deliver in a high-pressure and changing environment
- Strong focus on execution and outcomes
- Excellent analytical, planning, organizing, evaluation and problem-solving skills
